Kneipenterroristen is the fifth studio album by the German rock band Böhse Onkelz. It was released on 10 October 1988 with label Metal Enterprises. The album sold until the fall of 1988 about 20,000 times.

Background

When this album came conflicts with record companies Boss Ingo Nowotny days, who wanted to continue to market the Böhse Onkelz as a skinhead band and began to rebuild his label Metal Enterprises to the right rock label in styles from Rock -O -Rama. The recordings took place in the Tarnith Studio Lindheim and it always came back to disputes with Nowotny, who also served as producer of the album. The music press, especially the Metal Hammer, the album strongly criticized and called the rock group continues as a Nazi band.

After the album the band started to look for a new record company. It is one of the albums whose exploitation rights could regain the Onkelz after years of litigation. Previously, the sole exploitation rights were by the contract with the producer Nowotny.

Music style

The album sets itself apart due to the musical development of the band from its predecessors from. Various songs in which, for example, Reference to horror films, are kept quite bleak. With the song " So we are," however, there is again a typical Onkelz title. Also, the song " A good friend ", a cover version of the song of the same name from the movie The Three out of the gas station in 1930, is held in the typical Presley style.

Cover design

On the cover is a comic motif from the Watchmen comic series, the Rorschach, which occurs through an open door, shows. On the right is about the motive of writing Böhse Onkelz and the left edge is, from bottom to top written Kneipenterroristen. The background is kept yellow.

Background information on each song

The song is about a time in which the Böhse Onkelz were often involved in brawls. Title you here ironically as " Kneipenterroristen ". The song gave its name to the whole album.

" Evil men, evil songs, Böhse Onkelz repeatedly " is a line of text from the song No one knew how it happened from the album Evil people - evil songs.

The name of the title is based on the eponymous film, the lyrics, however, has little to do. The song is about paranoia.

The song is Kevin Russell's old apartment in the Weberstraße dedicated 28 where the Onkelz used to have their " domicile ". Gonzo and Stephan came up with the idea to write a song for this apartment, and this instrumental came out of it. The reef, from which the song is inspired by Metallica's instrumental "The Call Of Ktulu ". Stephan Weidner and the late " Trimmi " the number had tattooed on her lower lip.

The 28 (BH) is nowadays sometimes used by right-wing extremists as a distinctive mark and is an abbreviation for the organization Blood and Honour. This was the time of origin of the song, however, in Germany not in use.

The song is about the lives of some friends of Mullins, who landed in prison. She herself singing in this song from the fact that they want to " never back down " to be, so never want to return back to where they came from - on the road.

The song is from the famous film character Freddy Krueger, the main character of the Nightmare on Elm Street series. With the song they performed in 1988 in the show Hard 'n Heavy on Tele 5. A video clip that was shown there and was developed as part of the broadcast was never performed again.

A good friend is a cover of a song from the film The Three out of the gas station. The text is by Robert Gilbert, music by Werner Richard Heymann. The song is a bonus track for the CD version of the album.
