Kobilje

Kobilje (Hungarian Kebeleszentmárton ) is a municipality in the Prekmurje region of Slovenia.

Kobilje located in the extreme northeastern part of Slovenia, in the immediate proximity to the Hungarian border. She is one of three Slovenian communities that consist of only one village. In the village live 624 inhabitants. The next Hungarian center is Lenti.

In 1208 Kobilje was first mentioned in writing. In 1627 the town was destroyed by the Turks. Located in the village are two powerful Wild Service Trees (Sorbus torminalis ), which are among the largest and oldest in Slovenia.
