Kobylice, Opole Voivodeship

Kobel joke, Polish Kobylice, is a town in Upper Silesia in the community Czissek ( Cisek ) in the powiat Kędzierzyńsko - Kozielski in the Opole Voivodeship.

Geography

Kobel joke located 5 km north- west of the parish seat Czissek, 5 km south-west of the county town Kędzierzyn -Koźle ( Kędzierzyn - Cosel ) and 43 km south-east of the voivodship Opole.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1300 as Cobilitz.

In the referendum on March 20, 1921 283 voters voted to remain in Germany and 53 for Poland. Kobel joke remained with the German Reich. By 1945, the place was in the district of Cosel.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration, was renamed Kobylice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 Kobel joke part of the Opole Voivodeship and 1999 of the re-established powiat Kędzierzyńsko - Kozielski. On 11 October 2007, the City also received the official German place names Kobel joke, in September 2008 bilingual town signs were erected.
