Kohlhiesels daughters is the 1962 resulting fifth and most successful film version of the peasant farce of the same name. Directed by Axel von Ambesser. The main roles Liselotte Pulver played ( in a dual role ), Dietmar Schönherr, Helmut Schmid and Peter Vogel.

Action

In Munich Student Günter swindled a meal in a hotel school and learns to know the lovely Liesel. Günter discovers that Liesel is the daughter of the inn owner Kohlhiesel in the remote village of Hinterflüh in the Bernese Oberland. Meanwhile, Liesel returns back to her hometown, where her friend Toni already at the station with flowers waiting for them. Toni wants Liesel marry as soon as possible. Liesel's mother, however, has on his deathbed that she may marry only if her twin sister Susi 's under the hood.

Since Susi has been marketed with their deterrent nature every man is father Kohlhiesel a wedding announcement, but without informing his daughter about it. This in turn switches without his knowledge an advertisement, with whom she is looking for a servant. Several candidate representations due to the marriage ad, but first get to Susi that keeps them for job seekers and the townspeople Rolf chooses, He takes the position of being able to win so Susi and her dowry for themselves in hope. Background

Axel von Ambesser moved his version of Hanns Krälys Bauer Schwank of Bavaria to Switzerland. The unsympathetic Liesel from the original piece is now called Susie. The sympathetic sister, who is mentioned in the original piece Gretel is, in this version Liesel. It also made Ambesser of its stars Liselotte Pulver and Helmut Schmid the opportunity to sing.
