Kołbaskowo

Kołbaskowo ( German Kolbitzow, also Colbitzow ) is a village in the powiat Policki the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and the seat of a rural community of the same name.

Geographical location

The village is situated in the eastern Pomerania, ten kilometers south-west of Szczecin on the border with the Federal Republic of Germany.

History

Kołbaskowo is an old church village. Under its previous name Kolbaskow Kołbaskowo is mentioned in a document of 1303, namely donated to the Bishop Henry, the income of three churches, of Pomellen, Rosow and Kolbaskow, the nunnery in Szczecin to supply his patients. The main source of income of the village was the agriculture and forestry. Around the year 1775 there were in the church village that is no longer the nunnery in Stettin belonged at that time, ten farmers, a Kossäten, a parish peasants, a schoolmaster and a forge. On January 1, 1862 there were 33 houses in Kolbitzow, 35 outbuildings, a windmill with a millstone and a cylinder and 313 Einwohnwer, which were distributed to 58 families, including a Catholic.

The parish of Kolbitzow was Protestant since the Reformation to 1945. In 1925, eight Catholics were counted in Kolbitzow except the Protestants.
