Koldo Fernández

Koldo Fernández de Larrea (born 13 September 1981 Vitoria ) is a Spanish cyclist.

Koldo Fernández de Larrea was 1999 Spanish champion in the age group of juniors. In 2004 he got his first professional contract with the Basque Euskaltel -Euskadi cycling team. Since 2005, the team on the UCI ProTour participates. Fernández de Larrea 2006 showed good performance even at some races in the season. So he made it, among other things in Paris-Nice and the Giro d' Italia several times in the top ten, had to give up at an early stage in the Giro but after a fall. In the Vuelta a España 2007, he also reached several top - 10 finishes. These included, among others, a second and a third place. In 2009, he went for the first time in the Tour de France at the start. At the first sprint finish he fell, and then retired in the Pyrenees, as he fell out of the time limit.
