Komárno District

The Okres Komárno is an administrative region in the south of Slovakia with a population of 107 920 (2004, 2001, there were 108 556, of which 30 079 ( 27.7 %), Slovak, 74 976 ( 69.1 %) Hungarian) and an area of 1,100 km ².

Historically, the district is located for the most part in the former county Komárom ( west), a smaller part in the east to the place Bátorove Kosihy part of the former county Gran (see also List of historic counties of Hungary ).
