Kompienga Province

Kompienga is a province in the southeast of the West African country of Burkina Faso.

It is located in the region Est and has 75 662 inhabitants ( 2006 census ). By 1996, she was part of the province Gourmand and is only sparsely populated, but rich in natural landscapes in the nature reserves that lie to the east of the provincial capital of Pama. West of Pama is the Kompiengastausee, a local fishing center. There are also numerous hunting areas. In the south of Pendjari separates the province from neighboring Benin.
