Konrad Ragossnig

Konrad Ragossnig ( born May 6, 1932 in Klagenfurt) is an Austrian guitarist and lutenist.

Life

Ragossnig studied from 1954 to 1957 guitar with Karl log at the Vienna Music Academy, where he was self- employed from 1960 to 1964 as a professor. From 1964 to 1983 he taught at the Music Academy of Basel, then up again in 2002 in Vienna as successor to Karl log. In the period from 1989 to 1997, he was appointed as a visiting professor at the Zurich University of the Arts. Among his most famous students include Koudelak Leon and Alexander Swete.

Ragossnig has about 70 editions of compositions from the 16th to the 20th century published and presented about 60 sound recordings. Among the six-part anthology is to highlight music for lute (1973 /74), which was declared by the magazine Fono Forum for Record of the century in 1976. In addition, he has performed with world premieres of works by renowned composers such as Mario Castelnuovo- Tedesco, Hans Haug, Gottfried von Einem or Armin Schibler. One focus of his edits, concerts and recordings is the guitar chamber music.
