Konstantin Vassiljev (Russian Константин Викторович Васильев; born August 16, 1984 in Tallinn) is an Estonian football player of Russian descent. The midfielder is since 2011 at Amkar Perm in Russia's highest league of Premjer league contract. In 2010 Vassiljev was Footballer of the Year in Estonia for the first time. He could at the election in 2011 to defend against Ragnar Klavan this award.

Career

Vassiljev began his career at Tallinna JK, where he attracted the attention of the Estonian top clubs FC Levadia Tallinn, due to its accuracy. There he joined the 2003 season and played five successful seasons there. During this time he was also the debut for the national team of Estonia. In July 2007 he transferred free transfer to Slovenia for NK Nafta Lendava, after the former captain of Levadia was used only in the reserve team. He made his debut in Slovenia on February 3, 2008, but this failed because the club lost 0-2 at audience Celje. The first goal for his new employer did this in the game against NK Drava Ptuj which was lost with 1:2. At the club from Lendava Vassiljev was a regular on three seasons and could reach the positions seven and six in the Slovenska Nogometna league. In the Slovenian Cup he was with the team in 2009/10 to the semifinals. In February 2011 Vassiljev signed a contract until the end of the season, 2013, when the current Slovenian titleholders FC Koper. After half a year Vassiljev left the FC Koper, and moved to Russia to Amkar Perm.

National

After he was active in the youth area of the Baltic previously gave Vassiljev his debut in the national team of Estonia on 31 May 2006 in a friendly match against New Zealand, when he came on in the 66th minute for Vjatšeslav Zahovaiko.

His first goal for the A- team he scored in the qualifying match for the World Cup 2010 against Armenia in Hanrapetakan Stadium. For Estonia, the midfielder scored in a friendly match against the beginning of 2011, coached by Lothar Matthäus Bulgarian selection twice, which was previously succeeded him in the match against Uzbekistan 1 year ago.
