Korni grupa

Korni grupa ( Serbian Cyrillic Корни група ) was a rock band from the former Yugoslavia.

History

Korni grupa was formed in September 1968 in Belgrade by the former keyboardist Indexi Kornelije Kovač. The first members were Borko Kacl, a former guitarist for the band Zlatni Dečaci, bass guitarist, Bojan Hreljac of Elipse, drummer Vladimir " Furda " Furduj and the singer Miroslava " Seka " Kojadinović. The band had their first gig in Belgrade's "Dom sindikata " at the event for the Sportsman of the Year. Soon after, the band of Radio Belgrade was invited to participate in the program " Studio VI vam pruža sansu ". However, Miroslava Kojadinović did not like the song you sing, so the Kovač occurred as singer. After this scandal Miroslava Kojadinović was expelled from the band. New singer was Dušan " Prele " Prelević.

In 1968, the group met at the Jugovizija Festival in Zagreb. Prelević the singer was drunk to the appearance and shortly thereafter was thrown out of the group. New singer was Dalibor Brun from the band Rijeka. The first hit of the group were Magična ruka, Sonata and DPress -ram. In Europe Festival in the Netherlands, they won the prize for the most original band. Their first concert in Belgrade was Omladine on November 6, 1969 at the Cathedral. The concert was titled malu Uz pomoc Nasih frendova ( With a little help from our friends ). Then Dalibor Brun left the band and was replaced by Dado Topić of the group Dinamiti. This also brought the guitarist Josip Boček the band. The guitarist Kacl soon left the band.

1971 Topić left the group and formed the band Time. New singer Zdravko Colic was of the group Ambasadori, which spent only six months at the band and then began a very successful solo career. Zlatko Pejaković of the band Zlatni Akordi became the new vocalist. With this, the first album of the group entitled Korni grupa was published. In 1972, she appeared at the Montreux Jazz Festival.

In 1974 they represented Yugoslavia at the Euro Vision Song Contest with the title Moja Generacija. In the same year the group was named by the British magazine Music Week, the Yugoslav band of the year. Disappointed by poor performance in the song contest and declining popularity decided Kovač the Korni Grupa dissolve. They gave two farewell concerts at Studio M in Novi Sad.

In 1987, the band once again together next to Indexi, Time, YU grupa, Drago Mlinarec and RM Tocak band at the concert legend YU Rocka ( Legends of YU rock ) in Zagreb participate. Her song Jedna žena appeared on the live album Legend YU Rocka. The same groups were in the same year in Belgrade's Sava Centar.
