Kostelní Radouň

Kostelní Radouň ( German churches Radaun ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers north of Jindřichův Hradec and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Kostelní Radouň is located in the southern part of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands in the valley of Radouňský creek. The village extends over a length of three kilometers along the creek creek to the confluence of the RACI. On the hallways are 17 ponds. West of the 659 m high rises Čertův kámen.

Neighboring towns are Okrouhlá Radouň in the north, Karlov in the east, in the southeast Lovětín, Dolni Radouň in the south, the west and Lodhéřov Najdek in the northwest.

History

The village Raduna magna was first mentioned in 1296 as a possession of the Lords of Hradec. In the middle of the 13th the German Teutonic Order had been commissioned by the Lords of Hradec with the establishment of Plebanaten that originated in Blažejov and Kostelní Radouň. Up to the Hussite wars the Pleban of Kostelní Radouň was subordinate to the Diocese of Prague. Then the church was Hussite and used a utraquistischer pastor. Since the 16th century in the reign Kamnitz place belonging to the Brethren community had become the most important confession. The parish remained after the Battle of White Mountain vacant until 1672. From 1672 Kostelní Radouň belonged to the rule Vtschelnitz.

In 1980 Kostelní Radouň was incorporated into Horni Radouň. Since 1990, the community is self-employed again.
