Kotaro Sakurai

Kotaro Sakurai (Japanese桜 井 孝 太郎, Kotaro Sakurai, born June 29, 1994 Ōta ( Tokyo ), Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Filipino- Japanese race car driver. He started 2012 in the GP3 Series.

Career

Sakurai began his motor racing career in Formula racing in 2010 in the Formula BMW Pacific. He started for Eurasia Motorsport. He was four times counted on a pedestal Square and finished the season in eighth place in the drivers' standings. 2011 Sakurai started the year in the Toyota Racing Series. Starting for M2 Competition, he was a seventh place as a best finish 14th in the overall standings. He then competed for Hitech Racing in the British Formula 3 Championship. He participated in the rookie standings and won it with 15 wins from 30 races rating. However, he was the only starter in this rating in 12 races. In addition, he participated in a meeting of the European F3 Open.

2012 Sakurai went for Status Grand Prix to three events in the GP3 Series at the start. Previously, he had already taken part in several times for the team to GP3 test drives. At an event he went to with Philippine racing license. At the end of the season, he finished 24th place. In addition, Sakurai attended the Auto GP World Series for Euro Nova Racing at the final race weekend.
