Kotvrdovice

Kotvrdovice ( German Kordowitz, Gottfried shock) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers east of Blansko and belongs to Okres Blansko.

Geography

Kotvrdovice is located in the source basin of the creek Kotvrdovický creek in Drahany country. West extends the protected landscape PLA Moravian Karst. To the north rises the Kopáč (560 m), northeast of the Kojál (600 m), in the south of Lipový Kopec ( 561 m) and west of the Strážná (538 m). To the south lie the ponds Budkovan and Olšovec. Southwest is the deserted village Dvorce.

Neighboring towns are Ostrov u Macochy and Lipovec in the north, Kulířov and Krásensko in the northeast, Senetářov in the east, Ruprechtov the southeast, Rakovec Bukovinka and Bukovina in the south, Křtiny, Habrůvka and Jedovnice the southwest, Lažánky in the west and Vilémovice and Krasová in the northwest.

History

Kotvrdovice was founded in the second half of the 13th century during the colonization of the area by the Lords of Hohlenstein. The first written mention of the village belonging to the reign Jedovnice Gottfried strike took place in 1349. Throughout the years, numerous noble families took turns as the owner of the domain. 1743 acquired Anton Josef Altgraf of Salm- Reifferscheidt power through marriage. After he had bought in 1763 the rule Raitz he concluded Jedovnice on to Raitz. 1811 took Hugo Franz Altgraf Salm- Reifferscheidt the management of the family estates.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kotvrdovice / Kordowitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Boskowitz. During the German occupation of the town between 1939 and 1945 contributed back to the original name Gottfried shock. 1948 Kotvrdovice was assigned to the Okres Blansko. Since 1994, there are contacts with the Bavarian town of Aschheim, which were fixed in a community partnership in 1999. Kotvrdovice leads since 2004 a coat of arms and banners.

North of the village lies the airfield Kotvrdovice ( LKKOTV ), which is approved for ultralight aircraft.

  • Transmitter Kojál with 339.5 m high radio mast on the homonymous hill northeast of the village
  • Olšovec ponds and creek on Budkovan Jedovnický. On 42 acres Olšovec there is a recreation area.
