Kozluk

Kozluk (formerly Hazzo or Hezo ) is a town and a district in Turkey. It belongs to the province of Batman and is located in Southeastern Anatolia. Kozluk located in the northern part of the province and is bordered to the west by Diyarbakir and Siirt and Bitlis to the east.

The county Kozluk has 61,552 inhabitants and the city of 22,535 (as of 2012).

History

Hazzo was founded at the foot of Muşberge. The city emerged as Hazzo on the Scherefname of Şerefhans, in Evliya Çelebi and the Seyahatname in Kamus'ul Alan. Evliya Çelebi Hazzo After Tamerlane was snatched from the Aq Qoyunlu destroying the town. After Tamerlane Hazzo stood again under the rule of Aq Qoyunlu until they were defeated in 1502 by the Safavid Shah Ismail below. 1514 Hazzo came after the battle of Chaldiran under Ottoman rule. Idris -i Bitlisi was commissioned by the Ottoman Sultan Selim I go to get the support of the Kurdish princes. Hazzo as part of Bitlis became one of the privileged Kurdish Sanjak. After the founding of the Turkish Republic in 1923 Hazzo was until June 1, 1938 part of Sason, then it was as Kozluk part of the province of Siirt. Since May 18, 1990 Kozluk is part of the province of Batman.
