Krakovany, Piešťany District
Krakovany (Hungarian Krakovany - to 1907 Krakován ) is a municipality in western Slovakia. It is located in the Danube hills at the creek Holeška, 2 km from Vrbove, 9 km from Piešťany and about 30 km from Trnava.
The village was first mentioned in 1113 as Craco and is a known archaeological site. In 1944 the town was annexed to the village Stráže (Hungarian Vágőr ).
In the archaeological site of a collection of luxury items made of glass, bronze, silver and gold was found in three graves, which date from the period between 200 and 300 AD.
The village has two churches ( 1270 and 1702 ).
