Kráľovičove Kračany

Kráľovičove Kračany ( until 1948 slovak " Kráľovicove Korčany "; Hungarian Királyfiakarcsa ) is a municipality in south-western Slovakia with 1038 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). It belongs to Okres Dunajská Streda, a part of the Trnavský kraj.

Geography

The municipality is located on the Great Rye Island, part of the Slovak Danube lowland. The municipality is flat with fertile soil and some peat bogs. The center is located at an altitude of 117 m nm and is five kilometers from Dunajská Streda.

Neighboring municipalities are Orechová Potôň and Veľké Blahovo in the north, Kostolné Kračany in the east, in the south Jurová Luc na Ostrove in the west and Vieska in the northwest.

Administratively divided the community in community Parts Etreho Kračany, Jastrabie Kračany, Kľúčiarove Kračany, Kráľovičove Kračany and Lesné Kračany (Hungarian Etrekarca, Solymoskarcsa, Kulcsárkarcsa, Királyfiakarcsa and Erdőhátkarcsa ); the place Damazérske Kračany (Hungarian Damazérkarcsa ) is no longer a community member and part of Lesné Kračany.

History

The municipality was created in 1940 by the merger of five previously independent places and was wearing the Hungarian name Királyfiakarcsa.

The area around the village, together with those of the church today Kostolné Kračany was first mentioned in 1215 as Corcha writing.

Until 1919 included the county located in Bratislava places the Kingdom of Hungary and came after Czechoslovakia or Slovakia today. On the basis of the First Vienna Award in 1938-45 they were again in Hungary.

Population

According to the 2011 census lived in Kráľovičove Kračany 1,039 inhabitants, of whom 833 Magyars, 161 Slovaks, Czechs seven, two Poles and a German and Roma; a resident had a different ethnic group. 33 inhabitants did not know. 864 residents pleaded with the Roman Catholic Church, 23 inhabitants to the Reformed Church, five residents for evangelistic church, three residents to the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Jewish community, two residents to the Evangelical Church AB and the United Methodist Church and a resident Old Catholic Church of; 18 inhabitants were of a different denomination. 61 residents were non-denominational and 57 inhabitants, the denomination is not determined.
