Krasnozavodsk

Krasnosawodsk (Russian Краснозаводск ) is a town of about 13,392 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ) in Moscow Oblast (Russia). It belongs to Rajon Sergiev Posad and lies about 90 km north-east of Moscow.

History

On July 15, 1915 seven kilometers from the Moscow - Yaroslavl railway line was established in a munitions factory, which has played a few years later an important role in supplying the Red Army in the Russian Civil War. 1916 was built at the factory, a housing estate, first without a name, after the Civil War Krasnosawodski named - to German as " Red - factory settlement ".

In 1940 the settlement town rights and the name Krasnosawodsk. The factory was expanded several times and is now called Krasnosawodsker chemical plant.

In 2000, a part of the Krasnosawodsker urban area was spun off and is since then as an independent city called Peresvet.

Economy and infrastructure

The chemical plant is the largest and most important industrial operation in Krasnosawodsk dar. Today it specializes mainly in the production of the hunting ammunition and fireworks. More companies in the city are a bread and a building material factory. Seven kilometers north of the city lies the village Bogorodskoje, which is nationally known for its wood carvers craft.

Near Krasnosawodsk runs the railway line Moscow Yaroslavl, one of the sections of the Trans -Siberian Railway. From the station there are Buschaninowo from connections to the Yaroslavl station in Moscow, as well as by Alexandrov, Sergiev Posad and other cities. Near Buschaninowo also runs the highway M8.
