Křepice (Břeclav District)

Křepice ( German Krepitz, formerly Kreppitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers north of Hustopeče and belongs to Okres Břeclav.

Geography

Křepice is located in the hills of the Highlands Boleradická, a western spur of Steinitzer forest in the source basin of the creek Křepický creek. To the west lies the valley of the Svratka. Southeast rise of Liščí vrch ( Fuchsberg, 374 m) and Přední kout (410 m), in the south the Krepicka stará hora ( Framberg, 322 m) and the southeast Punty ( punk mountain, 283 m). Two and a half miles west of the village runs the D 2 highway

Neighboring towns are Jalovisko, Nový Dvůr and Moutnice in the north, Těšany and Šitbořice to the northeast, Nikolčice in the east, Kurdejov the southeast, Hustopeče, Starovice and Nová Ves to the south, Uhercice the southwest, Velké Němčice and Boudky in the west and Nosislav, Židlochovice and Blučina in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Crepicz was made in 1349 in connection with the brothers Kuneš and VRS de Crepicz. After numerous changes of ownership among gentry families bought in 1498 by William II Pernštejna the goods and beat them in 1508 to the reign Seelowitz. The Lords of Zierotin, which had since 1564 Seelowitz, exercised religious tolerance. In 1616, Adam von Waldstein acquired the rule. From the forest Steinem bought Philipp Ludwig von Sinzendorf 1714 possession. 1740 a school was opened in Křepice. After 1743 was Leopold von Dietrich Mr. Stone on Seelowitz. 1819 acquired Albert Casimir of Sachsen -Teschen the rule. Until the mid-19th century Křepice remained subservient always Seelowitz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Křepice / Kreppitz formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Auspitz. In 1910 a new school building since the old one was too small. After the district town Auspitz and the southern neighboring towns were added to the German Reich in 1938 as a result of the Munich Agreement, Křepice was on the German border. The congregation was then to 1945 associated with the political district of Brno-Country and the jurisdiction Židlochovice. After the end of World War II the Okres Hustopeče was restored. After its completion in 1960 is part of the repeal Uhercice Okres Břeclav.

The chapel of Sts. Cyril and Methodius is the annual destination of a pilgrimage. Especially south of the village there are extensive vineyards.

  • St. Bartholomew's Church, built in 1791 in place of an earlier building in the Renaissance style. The bells are from the years 1490, 1522 and 1738. The 1522 cast big bell bears the arms of the Lords of Pernštejna.
