Krešimir Lončar

Kresimir Loncar ( born February 12, 1983 in Split, Yugoslavia) is a Croatian professional basketball player. He is 2.09 m tall and weighs 117 kg. It is used both on the position of the power forwards, as well as on the position of the center and is currently active for BK Khimki in the First Russian basketball league.

Career

Loncar started his professional career in 2000 in the first basketball league in Germany for DJK Würzburg s.Oliver, for which he was able to contribute 10.8 points per game in the first year 4.4, and in the second year. For the 2002/2003 season Loncar then moved to Italy in the first league to Benetton Treviso, with whom he indeed was able to win the championship and the Italian Supercup in the first year, but do not make it past a reserve role and therefore 2003/2004 to the Teramo Basket, also from Italy, moved. After a year there left Loncar Italy, and was from the season 2004/2005 bis 2005/2006 a total of two years in Ukraine actively for the BC Kyiv, with whom he was able to win the championship in the first year. After two years of locomotive in Rostov Russia's first basketball league Loncar came early in the season 2008/2009 to UNICS Kazan and won there, like the Russian Cup and was even most valuable player ( MVP ) of the tournament trophy selected. After two successful years there, he left the club and signed a two - year deal with league rivals BK Khimki.

Croatian national

Since 2008, Loncar is also part of the Croatian national basketball team, with whom he participated at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, and at the 2009 European Basketball Championships in Poland. In both tournaments they reached the 6th place, thereby qualified Loncar with Croatia for the 2010 World Cup in Turkey.
