Kreuttal is a municipality with 1418 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the Mistelbach district in Lower Austria.

Geography

Kreuttal is located north of Vienna in the wine district in Lower Austria. The municipality is named after the valley of the same name, in which the Rußbach cuts through the north of the Danube foothills of the Alps. The area of ​​the municipality covers 21.48 km ². 37.77 % of the area is forested.

History

World War II

In the last days of World War II were Kreuttal and its cadastral scene of fierce fighting between troops and eventful of the Wehrmacht and the Red Army. Hornburg was on April 17, 1945 highly competitive, with 20 German and 40 Russian soldiers fell.
