Kris Van Assche
Kris Van Assche ( born May 12, 1976 in Londerzeel, Belgium) is a Belgian fashion designer who has his own fashion brand founded KRISVANASSCHE (in capitals ) 2005. Since 2007, Van Assche also acts as chief designer of the French men's fashion brand Dior Homme.
Biography
Van Assche grew up as an only child in Londerzeel and attended a Catholic school. His father worked in the automotive industry, his mother was a secretary. At the age of 15 he attended drawing classes on weekends for amateurs at an art school. Although he - in his own words - could not draw well and sew, he made at the age of 18 years, the entrance exam of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. After graduating in the field of study ' Fashion ' got Van Assche 1998, first as an intern, a job as a design assistant to Hedi Slimane in the men's fashion with " Yves Saint Laurent " in Paris. The KRISVANASSCHE brand
In January 2005, Van Assche founded in Paris its own high-priced men's fashion brand called KRISVANASSCHE that the Luxembourg-based company Frans SA heard. 2011 and 2012, Van Assche cooperated with his own clothing line with the luggage manufacturer Eastpak and brought under the name EASTPAK KRISVANASSCHE each a limited edition luggage collection in the upper mid price range on the market. In 2012 he entered into a collaboration with the jeans manufacturer Lee and presented a limited edition denim collection.
Dior Homme
After the departure of Hedi Slimane's chief designer of " Dior Homme " in 2007, the House of Dior Van Assche called back as the successor of Slimane for Dior Homme. Under Van Assches directing the Dior Homme fashion was compared to Slimane's designs more commercial and therefore portable.
