The Külf is up to 260 m above sea level. NN high ridge line of the mountain region in the district of Hildesheim in Lower Saxony ( Germany ).

Geographical location

With its seven main surveys, the Külf extends to about 9 km in length in the triangle of the towns Gronau, Alfeld and Duingen. It lies between Eime and Banteln in the north, Dehnsen in the east, in the southeast Limmer, Brunkensen in the south and Hoyershausen, Lübbrechtsen and Deinsen in the West. West of Külfs extends Thüster Mountain, southwest of the mountain and east Duinger the seven mountains. Through the easternmost of Külf Leinetal leads the section Gronau - Alfeld the B 3

Geology

Geologically, the Külf part of Alfelder saddle, which also includes the south in the Rettberg and hoe mountain include (stretch to the north of Freden ). The rocks consist of limestones of Muschelkalk hard " Trochitenkalk " ( Upper Muschelkalk ) and " Wellenkalk " ( Lower Muschelkalk ).

Name

In the north of Külfs since about 1835 is at 234 m above sea level. NN is the observation tower Cölleturm.

Hiking in Külf

In Külf are several trails that can be managed differently well by wood- commercial use depending on the season. Contrary to the hiking trails in the more famous mountain ranges and mountains such as the Seven Mountains, Solling and Hils those of Külf be less crowded. The ridge trail itself is very narrow in many places and has steep slopes. It stretches over approximately 10 kilometers from north to south. On the eastern side you look across the Leine valley on the seven mountains to the west is the view over the villages Hoyershausen, Lübbrechtsen and Deinsen. On the north side trail parking spaces exist on the outskirts of Deinsen. A longer way through the field marks resulting from by the slow increase of Banteln.
