Kunratice (Děčín District)

Kunratice ( German Kunnersdorf ) is a town in the north of the Czech Republic near Kamenice ( Bohemian Kamnitz ). The village lies in the valley of the Bystřička ( John Bach, Weissbach ) between the mountains Vetrny vrch ( Ottenberg, 481 m ) in the west and Kunraticky vrch (Elias mountain, 505 m ) and Studenec ( Cold Mountain, 736 m) in the east.

History

The three villages emerged in the late phase of German colonization in Bohemia. After the low-lying valleys were already settled, the new settlers turned to the higher areas. Kunnersdorf was first mentioned in 1416 as Cunradstorf; Kaltenbach followed in 1451, Limbach 1457th

On Lipnicky vrch ( Himmer Czech mountain, 549 m) took place in the night of 19 July 20, 1757 heavy fighting of the Seven Years' War between Prussia and Austria. Reminded a memorial stone between Studený and Lipnice.

In 1981, the village was connected to the city Kamenice, but in the 1990s independent again.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Kunratice Kunratice ( Kunnersdorf ) Lipnice ( Limpach ) and Studený ( Kaltenbach ).

The municipality is divided into the Katastralbezirke Kunratice u České Kamenice and Studený u Kunratic.

Attractions

Kunratice houses some remarkable half-timbered houses. South of the town is located on the road to Kamenice the nature reserve Pekelský Dul (Hell reason). From the nearby Vetrny vrch one has a good view of the entire Bohemian Switzerland.
