Kveikur ( [ kvɛɪ - kʏr ], isl. For " candle wick " ) is the seventh studio album by the Icelandic band Sigur Rós and was published on 14 June 2013. It is the first album without keyboardist Kjartan " Kjarri " Sveinsson since Von.
Publication
On March 22, 2013, the music video was released to Brennisteinn to the music platforms YouTube and Vimeo. On the official website track list and album cover also been published. The EP Brennisteinn followed in April 2013, the first single Ísjaki.
Style and reception
The album is described as more aggressive than the previous releases. There was a substantial departure from the "dream - pop" of earlier albums with simultaneous recording of shoegazing and post-rock - bonds, which in the title and in the opening piece Kveikur Brennisteinn clearly is particular.
