Lak people (Iran)

The Lak, Alak or Lek are the southeastern group of Kurdish tribes in Lorestan, Ilam and Hamadan.

Their settlement area is sometimes Lakistan ( dt: Land of Laks ) called. Both the Lak and the Feyli belonging linguistically to the Lak, consider themselves as Lori Asli ( dt: real lur ). Their dialect Leki is a strong influence of lurischen ( Lori, Bakhtiari ) dominated südkurdischer dialect.

History

The name could Lak from the Persian word number lak ( لك ) for ten thousand date and thus denote the initial number of Lak families. The Laks are historically important, because the dynasty of the Zand rulers who ruled Iran in the 18th century, lakischen origin. History shows that the Laks from the north migrated Coming in its present settlement area. According to author Rabino the Laks were settled on the orders of Shah Abbas there.
