Lake Bracciano

The Lake Bracciano (Italian Lago di Bracciano, latin Sabatinus Lacus ) is a nearly circular lake in the Lazio region of central Italy. It is located about 33 km north-west from the city center of Rome, with an average width of 9 km from Lake Bolsena is the second largest lake in the Lazio region.

Formation

The Lake Bracciano is the volcanically active region of Vulcano Sabatino and fills a caldera.
