Anguillara Sabazia

Anguillara Sabazia is a city in the Italian province of Rome, in the Lazio region with 18,816 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012). Since 2001, the city Anguillara law.

Geography

Anguillara Sabazia located 33 km north- west of Rome, 11 km east of Bracciano.

It is located in the former volcanically active region, the Sabatini Mountains, right on Lake Bracciano, a lake which was created by the collapse of an underground magma chamber as a result of volcanic eruptions of Vulcano Sabatino. The medieval old town is well preserved on an advanced into the lake hill. The municipality has a share in the Natural Park of Bracciano - Martignano and extends between two lakes up in the hills south of it to the Fosso Prato Viale. The river Arrone which drains Lake Bracciano flowing through Anguillara. The municipal area extends 143-337 m slm

The municipality is located in the seismic zone 3 (slightly endangered).

The districts are Sabazio Colle, Colle dei Pini, Fonte Claudia, Angzillara Stazione and pontoon dell'Elce

The nearby towns are Bracciano, Campagnano di Roma, Cerveteri, Rome Fiumicino and Trevignano Romano.

Traffic

The train station of Anguillara at the regional railway line Rome - Viterbo FR3 is 3.5 km south of the town center. The community is connected through the provincial road SP5a Via Anguillarese with Rome and has access via the provincial road SP12b Via Trevignanese the Via Cassia.

Tourism

Thanks to its location and the beaches on Bracciano and Martignanosee, the place is a popular destination for tourists and day trippers mainly from the Rome metropolitan area. Anguillara offers hotels, guest houses in various price categories and campgrounds.

Anguillara Sabazia counts 6,133 households. Between 1991 and 2001 the population increased by 41.2 % from 10,083 to 14,236 on.

Policy

Antonio Pizzigallo (MPA ) was elected in June 2009 for the mayor. He solved Emiliano Minnucci from the one (center -left ) led.

After his discharge from the PdL Pizzigallo was discontinued on 1 January 2011.

Pizzigallo was nationally known when he tried to improve the fiscal situation of the city by playing the lottery.

In the election in May 2011 Francesco Pizzorno ( left citizens list) was selected whose list with 11 of 16 seats, the majority in the City Council.
