Lake Solina

The Solina Reservoir ( Polish Jezioro Solińskie ) is located in the powiat Leski in the Beskydy Mountains in southern Poland in the Bieszczady National Park.

The reservoir was created in 1968 by damming the San and has an area of 2200 hectares. With its 472 million cubic meters of volume (including 474 million m³ are called ) it is the largest reservoir in Poland. The water is up to 60 m deep. When impounding the villages Solina, Telesnica Sanna, Horodek, Sokole, Chrewt and a large part of Wolkowyja were flooded.

The dam of the type gravity dam is 81.8 m, the highest in Poland and has a crest length of 664 m. Below the lake there is a hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 200 megawatts.

On the bank provides opportunities for windsurfing and other water sports. The most popular resorts on the edge of the lake are Solina and Polanczyk.
