Lancelin, Western Australia

Lancelin is a small fishing village in Western Australia, with about 600 residents that once lived mainly from the crab and lobster fisheries. Today, tourism is one of the most important sectors of the economy. Due to the relative proximity to Perth ( about 110 km north of the city), there are now numerous Cottages which are mostly inhabited only during the holidays. Thus, the population swells during the Christmas holidays to approximately 2,500.

Attractions

The beach on the Pacific Ocean advertises itself for swimming and fishing. In addition, located on the territory of the local golf course with 18 holes. At the end of the main road from Lancelin is "The Big Dune", a large sand dune, which can be negotiated with four-wheel vehicles. Through the sand dune field can be reached from here, in a journey time of about three hours, the approximately 65 kilometers north situated Nambung National Park.
