Landgravine Amalie of Hesse-Homburg
Christiane Amalie of Hesse- Homburg (* June 29, 1774 in Homburg, † February 3, 1846 in Dessau ) was a princess of Hesse- Homburg and by marriage Hereditary Princess of Anhalt- Dessau.
Life
Amalie was a daughter of the Landgrave Friedrich V of Hesse- Homburg (1748-1820) from his marriage to Caroline (1746-1821), daughter of Landgrave Ludwig IX. of Hesse- Darmstadt.
She married on 12 June 1792 in Homburg Hereditary Prince Frederick von Anhalt- Dessau ( 1769-1814 ). To the upbringing and education of their children they cared personally and thoroughly.
The writer Friedrich Hölderlin dedicated his poem written in 1800 from the quiet boom send - Send to a Princess of Dessau.
