The office landscape Sylt is an office on the island of Sylt in the North Friesland (Schleswig -Holstein). Seat is the town of Sylt, which does not belong to the office itself and the administrative affairs for the Office leads.

History

1889 Sylt formed from the eight municipalities Archsum, Westerland, List, Northern villages, Morsum, Rantum, Tinnum and Westerland in a circle of Tønder office district. The municipality thus comprised the entire island of Sylt. 1905 Westerland town and was thus different from office district. The municipality of Northern villages consisted of the three places Braderup, Kampen and Westerland. 1927 formed Kampen an independent municipality and the municipality of northern villages renamed themselves in Westerland.

In 1948, the District was dissolved. List has been official released and the remaining municipalities formed the Office Westerland. At the same time Hoernum was formed from a part of the community Rantum. The Office, whose headquarters was located in Westerland, 1965 changed its name to Office landscape Sylt.

31 December 1969 merged municipalities Archsum, Westerland, Morsum and Tinnum to full time managed municipality Sylt-Ost, which then resulted in the administrative affairs for the Office. The administrative headquarters was still in Westerland.

In August 2002, the church changed its name to Westerland Westerland -Braderup. On 1 January 2004 the municipality List has abandoned its official Freedom and joined the office.

On 1 January 2009 the municipalities were Rantum and Sylt-Ost from office and formed together with the former town of Westerland, the new municipality Sylt. Since then, the management division of the Office municipality Sylt leads under an administrative community and the administrative headquarters is located in Westerland.
