Lanvéoc

Lanvéoc ( breton Lañveog ) is a commune in the Finistère department of Brittany in the west with 2246 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). The municipality is located in the north of the Crozon peninsula on the Atlantic coast in the Regional Natural Park of Armorica (French Parc naturel régional d' Armorica ). In Lanvéoc the French Naval Academy ( frz: École Navale ) is established.

Location

Lanvéoc is located about 11 km south of Brest on the opposite bank of the Rade de Brest and about 40 km northwest of Quimper.

Infrastructure

At Le Faou and Châteaulin are the next departures of the highway E 60 (Nantes- Brest) and, among others, in Châteaulin, Quimper and Brest, as are the nearest railway stations. In Brest is also the nearest airport. The military airfield Lanvéoc - Poulmic is located on the territory of the municipality.
