Larry McKibben

Larry E. McKibben ( born January 5, 1947 in Marshalltown, Iowa) is an American lawyer and politician ( Republican).

Life

McKibben attended the Marshalltown High School. After finishing school in 1965, he studied at the University of Northern Iowa, where he received in 1970 his Bachelor of Arts ( BA) and continued his studies at the College of Law at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, where he received his Juris Doctor in 1972. In 1973 his license to practice law for the state of Iowa. In the same year he began to practice in a law firm in Marshalltown. 1979 McKibben was admitted to the United States District Court Northern District of Iowa, and the United States District Court Southern District of Iowa. Other approvals included the United States Tax Court in 1984 and the eighth district of the United States Court of Appeals in 1988.

McKibben is a member of the Bar of Iowa, the Iowa State Bar Association, where he held positions in various committees. In addition, he was from 1986 to 1987 president of the Marshall County Bar Association.

From 1997 to 2009 he was a Senator in the Senate of Iowa for three legislative sessions. In the elections of 2008 he no longer went to. In his time as a senator, he represented from 1997 to 2003 the 32nd District, and then after the 22th district. In 2012 he stood as a candidate in the primaries of his party to nominate the Republican candidate for the 36th District in the upcoming Senate election, but lost Jane Jech.

McKibben is married and has two children, a son and a daughter.
