Lars VÃ¥gberg

Lars Magnus Vågberg (* June 30, 1967 in Sollefteå, Sweden) is a Norwegian curler and Olympic champion.

Vågberg initially played for his native Sweden and took part in the 1990 and 1994 European Championships. He won the gold and silver medal. In 1992 he also took part in the World Championship, finishing in seventh place.

In 1997, he then played for Norway.

At the World Championships in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2004 and 2005 Vågberg participated, but came away empty. At the 2001 World Championships in Lausanne, he won the bronze medal. A year later, at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, hit the Norwegian team in the final of the favored Canadians with skip Kevin Martin and Vågberg was Olympic champion.

This was followed by a second place at the 2002 World Cup in Bismarck, a third place at the 2003 World Championships in Winnipeg and a third place at the 2004 European Championships in Sofia. At the 2005 European Championships in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, the Norwegians defeated in the final of the Swedish team with skip Peter Lindholm and Vågberg became European Champion.

In 2006, Vågberg at the Olympic Winter Games in Turin. The team finished fifth.

Vågberg is the sibling of curling gold medalist Pål Trulsen.
