Lars Vogt

Lars Vogt ( born September 8, 1970 in Düren ) is a German pianist.

Life and work

Lars Vogt studied at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Hanover with Karl -Heinz Kammerling. At the age of 20 years won Lars Vogt, 1990 in Leeds into second place in the international piano competition. In Germany, joined and enters Vogt in concerts with many famous symphony orchestras in appearance. But also in Europe between Helsinki and Rome, he performs as a soloist or with orchestras. Across Europe, he came to America and the Far East. In the 2003 /04 season he made his debut with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra (conducted by Lorin Maazel ) and opened the new hall at Carnegie Hall with a solo recital. He was also in the same season "Pianist in Residence" at the Berlin Philharmonic.

Particular commitment shows Lars Vogt for chamber music. In 1998 he founded the chamber music festival " tensions" in the power plant in Heimbach Heimbach (Eifel ). For fixed circle of artists who perform there include: Isabelle Faust, Christian Tetzlaff, Antje Weithaas, Tatjana Masurenko, Boris Pergamenschikow (†), Tanja Tetzlaff and Sharon Kam. Some concerts of this festival were published on a CD series.

Lars Vogt was married to the Russian composer Tatjana Komarova, has a daughter and lived with his family near Düren in Üdingen. Today he lives with his English girlfriend in London and partly in Berlin, where his ex- wife and children live.

Since 2012 he was appointed professor of piano at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover.

Commitment to children

Lars Vogt founded a network of musicians, the " Rhapsody in School" project. It is designed to provide emotional, but also rational contact with classical music children. Each school can apply for a visit of a musician on the homepage.

Prizes and awards

2004 Lars Vogt was awarded the Brahms Prize of the Brahms Society Schleswig -Holstein.

The prestigious German music award Echo Klassik went into the chamber music section 2004 to him (along with Sabine Meyer, Boris Pergamenschikow and Christian Tetzlaff ) for the recording of the duo - sonatas by Johannes Brahms during Heimbacher " tensions special" in September 2002.

In 2006 he was awarded with prize money of 30,000 Euro Great Cultural Prize of the Sparkasse Cultural Foundation Rhineland.

2008 Vogt was awarded the Annual Prize of the German Record - criticism in the category of chamber music. He took this award in the Berlin Museum of Musical Instruments.

2009 Vogt received the Silver tuning fork of the country Music Council NRW

Discography

There are a number of solo recordings before, in 2002, the pianist recorded a CD with Beikircher and 2004 with Sarah Chang.
