Lásenice

Lásenice ( German Lassenitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic with 575 inhabitants. It is located nine kilometers south-west of Hradec Jindřichův and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Lásenice is located in the Valley of the Nežárka between the Kardašořečická pahorkatina and Javořická Highlands. The village is surrounded by a variety of ponds, of which the fishpond is located directly at the site Formanský and the Velka Lásenice are the largest in the South. To the south rises the 607 m high Homolka.

Neighboring towns are Horni Lhota and Malíkov nad Nežárkou in the northeast, Nová Ves in the east, and Dolni Lhota Příbraz in the southwest, and Dvorce Straz nad Nežárkou in the west and Plavsko and Vydří in the northwest.

History

Situated on the leading Nežárkatal through the trade route from Neuhaus to Budweis village was first mentioned in a document including a fortress in 1366. 1382 owned by Nicholas Roth Lassenitz the parties and from 1429 it belonged Meinhard of Neuhaus.

Between 1420 and 1421 was in Lásenice a Hussite wagons, within the for the purpose of worship, a wooden cross was erected. In its place was built in the 16th century a wooden bell tower, which burned down in 1742. In its place, one of the Virgin Mary and St. John of Nepomuk was consecrated brick chapel, which in 1863 replaced by the current.

Became famous for the manufactured 1360-1374 Pieta by Lásenice, which was to the 18th century in a chapel in the village. They originally came from the Margaret Church in Dubovice. In the 19th century, the work of art by the Council of the National Gallery in Prague has been donated and is now in the local collection of Gothic art from the monastery of St. George at Prague.

The surroundings of the place drew in the 19th and 20th century to well-known painters, which included Antonín Chittussi, Otakar Nejedlý and Václav Vojtěch Novák. On the initiative of the painter Franta Volf Mala was lásenická gallery, are presented in the exhibitions of contemporary painters and photographers.
