Location

Geology

The two caustic peaks are the remains of a volcano that has formed more than 250 million years and is related to the Etschtaler volcanic group. The Laugenspitze is largely composed of porphyry. Alpinism

The Laugenspitze is accessible by several marked trails. The lightest of these paths leads on the gentle south ridge, he can be reached from Mitterbad in Marauntal, from Hofmahdjoch or from Gampenpass. History

The first known ascent of the Laugenspitze succeeded on August 24, 1552 the local nobleman Jakob von Boymont to Payrsberg, Regina von Brandis and their daughter Catherine Botsch.
