Lauren Hewitt

Lauren Hewitt ( Lauren Katherine Hewitt, born November 25, 1978 in Warracknabeal, Victoria ) is a former Australian sprinter.

In 1996, she won at the Junior World Championships in Sydney silver over 200 meters and came at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in the 4 x 100 - meter relay team to seventh place.

At the World Athletics Championships 1997 in Athens, she was eliminated about 100 m and 200 m in the quarterfinals. In 1998, she won at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur bronze over 200m, was fourth on 100 m and won the Australian 4 x 100 -meter relay. The following year she was over 200 m at the 1999 World Cup in Seville Seventh and reached about 100 m the semi-finals.

At the Olympic Games in Sydney she reached the 200m semi-finals and about 100 m to the quarterfinals. With the 4 x 100 -meter relay race she was disqualified in the flow. In 2001, she reached the semifinals at the World Championships in Edmonton about 200 m. At the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester she won bronze over 200m and gold in the 4 x 400 - meter relay.

At the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis she left more than 200 m from the semi-final, at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens in the quarterfinals and at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki in the flow. In 2006 she won at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne with the Australian 4 x 100 -meter relay bronze.

Three times she was Australian champion in the 100 m ( 1999, 2001, 2002) and five times over 200 m ( 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005).
