The airport Lausanne- Blécherette is an airfield in Switzerland.

Location

The airfield is located in the north of Lausanne in the Bossons / Blécherette district. He is with the A9 motorway (exit Blécherette ), as well as the bus lines 1 and 21 the Transports publics de la région lausannoise connected. He is away with the passenger car about ten minutes from the city center. It is located on a plateau and is surrounded by meadows and a farm. A base of the Swiss Air Rescue, a gas station, and a restaurant are located at the airport area.

History

The created from the town square was used in 1910 for the first time as a trajectory from Geneva Henri Speckner and a year later one of the first civilian airports in Switzerland.

Rapidly raised the question of hangars, which should serve for setting the aircraft and their maintenance. A first hangar in 1914 west of the runway, built right next to a farmhouse. A second hangar was through the active use of the airfield soon needed, which in 1922 together with a studio east of the runway was built.

Since from 1 May 1993 is responsible for the operational management of the corporation Aéroport de la région lausannoise " Blécherette " SA, which owns the concession. This was renewed in 2006.

The trajectory, the first consisted of grass, was replaced by an asphalt pavement in May 2000. The airport is dedicated to the leisure and business flights and is served by any airline.
