Lauter (Neckar)

The Lauter in Lenningen ( downstream )

The volume up or Lenninger Lauter is a right tributary of the Neckar river and originates at the eaves of the Swabian Alb.

Course

The Lauter is formed from the confluence of the White Lauter, just East Gutenberg and the Black Lauter, which rises in Schlattstall. Both rivers are fed from multiple sources at the respective edge of the valley. The villages belong to the district of Esslingen.

It flows through the towns Lenningen, Owen, Dettingen unter Teck, Kirchheim unter Teck and Wendlingen. Its most important tributary is the Lindachstraße in Kirchheim. The Lauter flows after a flow length of 27.5 km at Wendlingen into the Neckar.

History

The Celts roamed the Lauter on their search for food. In ancient times, the Romans in the lowlands of the flood plain has a limit ( Lauter - limit ) and a fort (Fort Dettingen unter Teck ) for its protection.
