LaVerne Jones-Ferrette

LaVerne Jones - Ferrette (born Janet LaVerne Jones, born September 16, 1981 Saint Croix ) is a sprinter from the U.S. Virgin Islands.

At the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, she reached the quarter-finals in the 100 and 200 meters. The following year she came at the World Championships in Helsinki over 100 meters into the quarter-finals and the 200m semi-finals. In 2006 she won the silver medal over 100 meters at the Central American and Caribbean Games.

After another semi-final over 200 meters at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, she ran in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing again on the two shorter sprint distances to the quarterfinals.

In 2009, she came at the World Championships in Berlin 's 200m semi-finals and was in the IAAF World Athletics Final in each seventh in the 100 and 200 meters.

In the indoor season, 2010, she caused a sensation when it first then ran the fastest 60 meters the fastest time for two years and since the turn of the millennium.
