Lažany (Blansko District)
Lažany ( German Laschan, formerly Lazan ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers west of Blansko and belongs to Okres Blansko.
Geography
Lažany is located in the valley of the brook Lažánka in the Bosko brázda. To the north rises the Brlůžky ( 438 m ) in the north- east, the Společná hora ( 429 m) and the Bukovec ( 596 m ) southeast of the Dubový Kopec ( 523 m), in the west the Paní hora (395 m) and northwest of the Na Dílech (400 m). Through the village leads the state road 461 I/43/E
Neighboring towns are Újezd The Black Hory and Klučeniny in the north, Milonice in the northeast, Hořice in the east, Olešná, Šebrov - Kateřina and Svinošice the southeast, Lipůvka in the south, Nuzířov the southwest, Skalička in the west and Unín in the northwest.
History
Lažany built in the 13th century on the old Strenitzer path, which formed part of the King's Road from Vienna via Brno to Prague. First was on the trail in the woods only a single fortified farm with a Ausspannwirtschaft for the teamsters. This arose in the course of time more houses and parts of the forest were cleared to operate from agriculture. The first written mention of the village took place in 1353rd The creek Lažánka formed the boundary between the two parts of Lažany. One was the rule Cerna Hora 's servants, and the other as the possession of the Order of the Good Hrušky u Brna.
After the abolition of patrimonial Lažany formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Boskovice. Up to this time Lažany was a purely agricultural village. Later, the inhabitants made their living increasingly in the factories of Brno. 1948, the community was associated with the Okres Blansko. Through the European Route 461, which is traveled daily by 25,000 vehicles, created in Lažany in recent years a number of small service companies.
