Lectionary 1

Lectionary 1 (referred to the numbering of Gregory -Aland as sigla ℓ 1) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament on parchment leaves.

Formerly the manuscript as Codex Colbertinus 700 was known.

Description

The Code contains lessons of the Gospels ( Evangelistarium ) along with some lacunae. It is described in Greek Unzialhandschrift on 265 parchment leaves (30 × 24 cm). Each side has 2 columns with 10 lines, 7-9 letters per line.

History

Using palaeography, it has been dated to the 10th century. Previously, you had assigned it different time periods. Scrivener is dated to the 8th century, Omont to the 14th century, and Gregory in the 10th century. Nowadays, dating to the 10th century is commonly accepted.

Originally owned this manuscript Colbert. The manuscript was examined by Bernard de Montfaucon, Johann Jakob Wettstein, Scholz, Paulin Martin, and Henri Omont.

The Code is now in the Bibliothèque nationale de France under the signature Gr. 278 in Paris.
