Origin and Meaning
The name comes from the Arabic (Arabic ليلى, Laila DMG ) and is widely used as a first name in the Arab- Muslim world. Originally, the name goes back to Laila Laila ʾ or in meaning: "very dark, long night " back. These Ibn Manzur: " then after that the woman has been named ". The name is old and occurs both in the pre-Islamic times as well as in the vicinity of Mohammed. The tragic love story of Laila Majnun is very well known in the Arabic belles-lettres.
