Leonardo Conti (ice hockey)

Leonardo Conti ( born September 15, 1978 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen ) is a former German professional ice hockey goaltender.

Career

For the first time in the DEL on the ice Leonardo Conti was in the 1995/96 season for the Augsburger Panther, where he moved from the junior of the Augsburg EV. He remained there for four years before, steered him Hans Zach, at that time national coach of the Kassel Huskies. But against Chris Rogles he could not prevail, so that he re- joined the club after one year. He went to rivals Frankfurt Lions, where he was appointed after the first season to the national team.

In 2002, he saw in the DEL no more chances to improve themselves and moved to second division club EC Bad Nauheim. For the 2003/ 04 season, signed him the ERC Ingolstadt. The following season he signed with the Iserlohn Roosters, where he formed a Torwartduo together with Dimitrij Kotschnew. In early 2006, committed the Roosters with Rich Parent an experienced Canadian goalie who blew up the duo Conti / Kotschnew. For the 2006/07 season, the two formed the third time the goalkeeping duo of Sauerland.

Under the new coach Geoff Ward, he came out in Cup matches only to short sessions. On New Years Day 2007, the Roosters committed the Czech goalkeeper Petr Franek and gave the same separation with Leonardo Conti known as it should not be like sitting in the previous year as the third goalkeeper in the stands, but should directly have the chance to look for a new club. This he found after a week with the Oberliga EV Ravensburg, where he helped especially in the play- offs to the rise of EVR.

His career as a goalkeeper in the first EVR, who called themselves the second division promotion ' Tower Stars ', lasted under coach Georg Holzmann, who had moved to the EVR shortly before Conti, only on the 2007/ 08 season. From January 2008 he moved next to Dennis Endras in the second row, the committed Ravensburger short for the remaining time. After coach Holzmann the club left end of the season and the goalkeeper position was disputed, although Endras joined the Augsburg Panthers in the DEL, Conti quickly found a new job as number one in the Oberliga ESV Kaufbeuren. There he stood in the 2008/ 09 season with the jersey number 35 on the ice. On 17 July 2009 it was announced that Conti Rostislav Haas replaced as a substitute goalkeeper for the Augsburg Panthers. For the Panthers, he received the jersey number 35 on 8 March 2013, announced his career end at the end of the DEL Season 2012 /2013. It is thus from August 2013 to scout and coordinator in the marketing sector.
