Lepiota

Stink - screen Ling ( Lepiota cristata )

The screen blanks ( Lepiota ) is a fungal genus of the family of mushroom relatives whose species produce small to medium sized fruit bodies. Frequently, they are provided with a velum. Common to all are white to off-white fins on the Hutunterseite, white to off-white powder spores and the presence of an immovable, membranous stalk ring or at least an annular zone.

Features

Screen compacts are small to medium sized leaves mushrooms. The hat is more or less wide bell-shaped. The Hutmitte is glabrous or velvety. The hat surface can against the brim ingrown fibrous, or be covered with fibrous to flaky or granular scales, covered in some species with concentric to the brim erupting scales. The hat surface is dry, the hat brim is not fluted or ribbed. The screen articles have in the fruiting body development a double velum, the velum partiale (partial cover) remains as membranous, often volatile ring back on a stick. In contrast to the related genus of giant screen compacts the ring is not displaced. The handle is cylindrical to slightly clavate shaped. The spore powder is white, rare cream and dextrinoid. The free, bulbous and urged lamella are also white, sometimes yellow.

Ecology

All members of the genus are Saprobionten that can grow on soil, wood or plant remains. Erdebewohnende types often come on rich (especially nitrogen-rich ), humic and ruderal places before.

Species

Worldwide occur about 400 species, the species is widespread in the tropics, in Europe occur about 60 species, the genus occurs especially in the Mediterranean area.

System

Previously, some species have been transferred to the genus sting screen charges.

Importance

Some screen blanks are highly toxic, the species of the genus therefore not come as edible mushrooms into consideration.
