Leszek Dunecki

Leszek Ryszard " Lech " Dunecki ( born October 2, 1956 in Toruń ) is a former Polish sprinter.

He began his career as a long jumper and was in this discipline in 1975 m with a width of 7.98 Junior European champion. Ultimately, however, he decided to switch to Sprint area. He was seven times Polish champion, five times in the 200 -meter run ( 1978-1981, 1984), and once each in the 100 - meter dash (1984) and in the 4 x 100 - meter relay (1982).

His first major international success as a sprinter in 1978 was winning the European Champion title in the 4 x 100 - meter relay. Together with Zenon Nowosz, Zenon Licznerski and Marian Woronin he referred in championship record time of 38.58 s, the seasons of the GDR and the Soviet Union to the places. In addition Dunecki finished fifth in the 100 -meter run. In 1979 he won the silver medal in the 60 - meter dash at the Indoor Athletics Championships in Vienna. Two more silver medals he won in the same year at the Universiade in Mexico City about 100 m and 200 m.

At the Olympic Games in 1980 he won jointly with Zenon Licznerski, Marian Woronin and Krzysztof Zwoliński in national record time of 38.33 s the silver medal behind the Soviet and before the French squadron. In addition Dunecki finished sixth in the 200 -meter run. In 1981, he won the Polish relay at IAAF World Cup and the second time after 1979 the Athletics European Cup.

Leszek Dunecki is 1,80 m tall and had a competition weight of 73 kg. He attended from 1977 to 1982, the Sport University in Warsaw and started from 1983 to 1986 for start Lublin. The 400-meter runner and Olympian Małgorzata Dunecka (born Gajewska ) is his wife.
