Lew Rywin

Lew Rywin ( born November 10, 1945 in Niżnyj Alkiejew in the Siberian Soviet Union) is a Polish film producer who came mainly through the so-called Rywin affair also internationally in the headlines.

Rywin came in the 1950s with his parents to Poland. He speaks four languages ​​, although he did also Polish furthermore still speaks with a Russian accent. Lew Rywin worked from 1984 to 1991 during the Polish state television TVP. Until 1989 he was the head of the foreign trade department and deputy president of the television station until 1991. In 1991 he founded the film production company Heritage film, which he made the biggest movie production company in Poland. Later also was still president of Canal Polska and was until 2003 the Supervisory Board of Canal .

In July 2002, the corruption scandal that became known under the name Rywin affair began. In their follow- Rywin was sentenced to two and half years in prison, later reduced to two years. In May 2009 he was arrested again. The prosecution accused him of having given before a false medical report in order to prevent his arrest.
