Libčice nad Vltavou

Libčice nad Vltavou ( German Lipschitz on the Vltava River ) is a city in the Czech Republic. Lies 14 kilometers northwest of the city center of Prague and is part of the Okres Praha- západ.

Geography

Libčice nad Vltavou located on the slip face of a river bend on the left bank of the Vltava River. North of the city lie the remains of the castle Liběhrad, the car ferry as the only connection to the other side leads to their feet to Dol across the river.

History

Libčice nad Vltavou is one of the most renowned archeological sites in the Czech Republic. The findings show a prehistoric settlement in three eras in the area of the city. In addition to the prehistoric settlement remains and tombs and the remains of a Celtic village were discovered.
